First 48 -- Charlotte,NC

Yes it is true, the television reality show, First 48 is in Charlotte, NC. Once a call goes out for murder, cameras will be tagging along 24/7 with the Detectives from the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department. They're going to be featured on the hit reality show "The First 48" seen on the A&E Network. Production crews started filming the first week of April. It is real life murders, family’s loss, and catching the guys that commit the homicides within 48 hours. Since Charlotte is my hometown and where I stay, from what I see on the news it has been getting out of hand lately and deaths has increase. About a month ago, there were five murders in five days. The first problem is Charlotte is becoming overpopulated, which means more drama. I believe if First 48 coming here will make it the homicides and conflicts increase. The reason why is because I am a huge fan of First 48 and I see the way they do things. Names are involved, people are shown, houses are seen, even the personal interviews are aired as well. Being so close to the information can cause problems. The difference is, they usually shoot the show in bigger cities like Miami, FL , Dallas, TX , Memphis, TN. Charlotte is way smaller than these cities and things can get more dangerous. They reported that it will help the families here get more closure, but I am pretty sure when people see information, they are going to try to take matters into their own hands. I have personally already seen the detective cars and jeeps riding around and I just feel so bad. Around two weeks ago, 10 minutes away from my house, I seen yellow tape surrounding a huge garbage can that was behind a grocery store. Detectives pulled up and pictures was taken all around the trash can. It’s nothing you can do but think negative thoughts. The shows are suppose to air the beginning of next year. Now they are saying that the shows for Charlotte will not be able to be aired on television…???? So what is the purpose for even coming here? The CMPD need to make smarter decisions for the safety of the Queen City.

Here is one of the many episodes :
